Following on with my experience with the new world of Airgunning,
Is there a shop that does not look down or try to rip off the shooter?
E.g.
After deciding that I would like to get back in to target shot with an air rifle I searched the internet for the latest information on the subject, found some forums including this one which has been very helpful in deciding which rifle and discipline I would like to follow, armed with this information I went to my local gun shop (36 mile round trip) This a shop that use to have the best selection of guns in the SE, Greenfields of Canterbury, I was greeted by a pleasant chap who asked what it was that I wanted to see, when I said a airgun the mood changed, I had to check the soles of my shoes, I was temped to ask if I had walked doggy do into his shop?
When you consider that airgunners spend a lot more money than the average shotgun owner, seeing that we tend to update our guns more regularly and own more than one,
We buy the latest updates and toys for our guns.
Unperturbed I bought a really nice gun from a member on another forum, a scope from another member and hopfully a bottle , gauge and bipod from another member this week, the point is if I was treated better by this shop the chances are that they would have had my money.
Next up was BAR of Blackpool I did a order over the phone for a few tins of lead and a chronograph (mark4) timely delivery thank you, but the chronograph (mark4) seems to be second hand ie the led screen is scratched and dirty, to be fair I haven’t phoned them yet, but the point is that I shouldn’t have to phone in the first place? Considering that im coming back after a long break, if it was not for the descent people on this site and others and members I have meet at the club, I would have sold up and gone back to fishing. |

OK guys firstly apologizes to BAR the screen was not scratched, it was the plastic protector covering the screen , and thats why it looked dirty,
typical me, going off half cocked.(not the best thing for a shooter to do)
so i will use BAR again as the delivery was spot on and a small charge was needed to remove the ample bubble wrap to protect the items.
so thanks guys and sorry about the miss-understanding. |

| In defense of Greenfields of Canterbury, I went in their shop 2 years ago while vacationing and the fellow spent quite some time showing me air rifles and pellets, even though I had informed him that as a vistor from Canada, I would not be able to purchase a rifle due to the red tape involved in bringing one home with me. |
